Uganda primate safaris, this is one of the most spectacular Uganda safaris you shouldn’t miss. It involves visiting man’s closest relative the chimpanzee at the primate capital of the world Kibale forest National Park. Your Uganda primate safaris will head to Queen Elizabeth National park the largest park in Uganda which located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. Lions are often sighted both in the park and at the entrance to the park. Lastly, Uganda primate safaris will head south to meet man’s closest cousin the mountain Gorilla at Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Day 1: Arrival in Kampala.

You will be picked up from the airport by a representative of your hotel and later meets your driver/ guide in the afternoon or evening. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore the sites in and around Entebbe or Kampala. Activities today are at your own costs.
Evening arrive at your accommodation get prepared for the next day for Uganda primate safaris to Kibale,

Day 2:kampala to Fort Portal/ Kibale Forest.

Today we’ll drive 6hrs to Fort Portal in western Uganda. so the route is incredibly scenic, passing through tea plantations and the lush green countryside which characterizes so much of Uganda. And the last hour of the journey will take you through dense forest for the sounds of the wild.
Arrive on evening at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Community walk.

Depart  in the morning for Chimpanzee tracking, meet experienced forest ranger will take you chimp tracking in the morning or afternoon.
Proceed with  swamp walk (2-3 hours) will take you through grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery, where the locals are likely to greet you with enthusiastic waves.
Optional: Chimpanzee Habituation tracking’ At an additional fee of only $70 us dollar pp you do the chimpanzee habituation tracking instead of the regular chimpanzee tracking.

Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Today you can relax at your lodge, make a Crater Lake hike or visit a nearby tea plantation, where you will be able to assist the tea pickers and learn about how leaves are selected for the highest quality (Optional visit at your own cost) you will continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On afternoon arrive at Queen Elizabeth for lunch  and embark with  an evening game drive.

DAY 5: GAME DRIVE & BOAT CRUISE ON THE KAZINGA CHANNEL.

Have an early breakfast at your hotel and then head out for a long game drive in time to see the first rays of light. It’s a must see of any of these animals like Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, and many Warthogs. And in the afternoon after lunch you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George and Lake Edward.
Optional Activities: Lion tracking $85 dollar per person.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking.

Close up and get personal with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. So expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile because you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience during your Uganda primate safaris!

Day 7: The Batwa Trail.

Today you will enjoy the Batwa Trail, a firsthand introduction to one of the most unique cultures worldwide. The Batwa pygmies are a forest people displaced from the rain forest they shared with mountain gorillas. So this experience will give you the opportunity to learn more about their age-old and culture while you enjoy a hike with the Batwa guide.

Day 8: Back to Kampala/Entebbe (9-10 hours).

After an early breakfast at the lodge, we will drive back to Kampala or Entebbe (Airport) stopping at the equator for the requisite snapshot and a bit of souvenir shopping. Arrival in Kampala/Entebbe on late evening at your own arranged accommodation so Uganda primate safaris will come to a close.
