Kenya & Tanzania Big 5 Safari

Your safari guide will meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and escort you to your hotel in Nairobi, where you will stay overnight in preparation for the following day’s safari.

In the morning, your driver-guide will arrive at your hotel to commence the safari, embarking on a scenic journey that descends into the Great Rift Valley and continues towards Masai Mara. Upon reaching your camp or lodge in Masai Mara, you will enjoy a relaxing lunch.

The late afternoon game drive is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM, providing an opportunity to observe the remarkable wildlife within the reserve, including the Big Cats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as rhinos, elephants, and wildebeests. You will return to your camp or lodge by 6:30 PM for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, you will embark on two game drives: the first in the morning from 6:15 AM to 9:00 AM, prior to breakfast, and the second in the late afternoon from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, following lunch. These early morning and late afternoon periods are regarded as optimal for observing wildlife at their most active. Given that your safari is private, the timing of your game drives can be adjusted to suit your needs, which is particularly advantageous for families traveling with children or couples on a safari honeymoon  who may prefer to enjoy a leisurely start on certain days.

Additionally, you have the option to partake in a full-day game drive, complete with a packed picnic lunch at no additional charge. In the evening, you will return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Following an early breakfast and check-out, you will embark on a morning game drive as you make your way to Serengeti National Park. Your Kenyan driver guide will facilitate your transfer to the Isibania border, assisting you with the necessary border formalities with the local authorities. Upon crossing the border, you will be greeted by your Tanzanian driver guide and vehicle, which will take you to your overnight camp in Serengeti National Park. Although it will be a lengthy day of travel, the game drives both into and out of the parks are often remarkably rewarding.

Following breakfast in the morning, you will embark on a safari in the Central-Eastern and Southern regions of the park. These areas predominantly consist of savannah, characterized by expansive short grass plains that offer a promising chance to observe cheetahs as they hunt antelopes. Later in the afternoon, you will be transported back to your hotel, where you can unwind in the evening, enjoy dinner, and take the opportunity to rest.

Begin your day early with breakfast at the lodge in Serengeti, followed by a transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater for an extensive game drive tour of the crater, complete with a picnic lunch. In the evening, you will be transported to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

The Ngorongoro Crater, a remarkable geological feature, is the largest unfilled and intact caldera globally, measuring approximately 20 kilometers in diameter, 600 meters in depth, and covering an area of 300 square kilometers. This stunning natural site includes Lake Magadi, a significant shallow alkaline lake located in the southwestern part of the crater, where one can often observe a variety of wildlife, including numerous flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic birds.

On the concluding day of your safari experience in Kenya and Tanzania Big 5 Safari, you will check out and embark on your transfer from Karatu to Arusha town, with the possibility of making optional stops at various souvenir shops en route to either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your subsequent travels.
