A staggering 57 kg (125 lbs) was the largest fish ever caught in the Mafia region! When the renowned author of Sherlock Holmes stories, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, visited in 1950, he caught a huge dorado weighing 34 kg (75 lbs), which broke records for this kind of fish throughout Africa.
