Drive to Nairobi National Park

Your Kenya Family Holiday begin with a visit to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a highly regarded attraction in Nairobi National Park, cherished even by long-term expatriates. Your experience here will be memorable as you observe the adorable baby elephants undergoing rehabilitation through activities such as exercise, feeding, and bathing.

Futhermore, the next destination is the Giraffe Center, a breeding sanctuary for the Rothschild Giraffe. In additionally, the center features an elevated feeding platform that allows visitors to engage closely with the giraffes as they eat, providing a unique chance to hand-feed these magnificent animals.

Finally, you’ll head to Mamba Village to explore the Crocodile Farm and meet the resident Masai Ostriches. Mamba Village offers a variety of activities, including fishing, cycling, and swimming, allowing you to choose how to spend your time.

Later in the evening, you’ll return to the lodge for leisure time, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Your 8-Days Kenya Family Holiday begin with a drive from Nairobi to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, also referred to as Sweet Waters. The route will take you through vibrant tea and coffee plantations, and you’ll cross the equator, transitioning from the southern to the northern hemisphere.

After lunch at Sweet Waters, you’ll embark on a game drive within the park. During this excursion, a stop will be made at the renowned Chimpanzee Sanctuary for a guided tour, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe the sanctuary’s endangered and intelligent inhabitants under the supervision of a specially trained ranger.

Your game drive will also feature a visit to the Morani Centre, where you can meet Baraka, the conservancy’s well-known tamed rhino. Baraka, who is blind and was relocated to the conservancy for his protection, is a friendly presence, and visitors may have the chance to participate in his feeding at designated times throughout the day.

To conclude your day, you’ll continue your drive through the park in pursuit of the Big 5: leopards, lions, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo.

You’ll leave Ol Pejeta and head towards the scenic banks of Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake, situated on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, is renowned for its diverse bird species and is also inhabited by wildlife such as giraffes, buffalo, and both velvet and colobus monkeys.

Your day at the lake will feature a guided boat safari, allowing you to observe hippos and various water birds, followed by a boat safari to the Crescent Island Sanctuary, where you and your children can stroll among zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and other animals.

Drive from Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

It wouldn’t be a safari in Kenya without a visit to the legendary Masai Mara.
You will depart from Lake Naivasha after breakfast and drive south to the Masai Mara National Reserve, the home to the Eighth Wonder of the World – The Great Wildebeest Migration.
Whatever time of the year you are in the park, you’ll get the chance to see lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, and more.

Additionally, in certain months, during the Wildebeest Migration, the park is flooded with more than 1.7 million wildebeest and 500,000 zebras.
You’ll enjoy a late lunch at your camp before heading out to a nearby maasai village for cultural interaction.

Full Day of Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

You have the opportunity to rise early for a remarkable sunrise game drive in the park. The savannah is particularly stunning as the sun ascends, casting a warm glow over the landscape, while predators like lions and leopards are notably more active in the refreshing morning air. Alternatively, you might consider an optional hot air balloon safari at dawn, which offers breathtaking views of the park and the sunrise from an altitude of 1,000 feet. Following your flight, you’ll descend to partake in a champagne breakfast on the savannah.

After enjoying your meal, you can unwind at the lodge until lunch or opt for a picnic lunch to embark on a full-day adventure in search of the Wildebeest Migration and the Big Five.

For younger guests, the lodge offers optional activities that include traditional Masai experiences such as spear throwing, archery, guided nature walks, and learning the art of fire-making in the Masai tradition.
