Drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

Today our guide will pick you at your hotel in Nairobi at 7am and head for the drive to Masai Mara. The next two days of your 5-Days Kenya Big Five Safari are devoted to exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations and home to the legendary Great Wildebeest Migration.

During your morning and evening Kenya game drives, witness the Big Five lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino in their natural splendor. Lions roam confidently across the open plains, leopards lounge in tree branches, and elephants wander gracefully in family groups.

If visiting between July and October, you’ll experience the world-famous Great Wildebeest Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River, braving crocodile-infested waters. This extraordinary phenomenon is nature’s greatest show of survival and instinct.

In the evenings, enjoy cultural interactions with the Maasai people, whose traditions and deep knowledge of wildlife enrich the Kenya safari experienceLater, return to Zebra Plains Mara Camp to unwind beside a crackling fire as the sounds of the African night surround you.

Drive from Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park

After enjoying a delightful breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. A 4-hour descent through Rift Valley farmlands leads to the alkaline shores of Lake Nakuru National Park, where the water shimmers pink on good days and rhinos graze along the lakeshore. It’s a transfer that does nothing to temper expectations and everything to exceed them.

Lake Nakuru National Park is an amazing wildlife haven, smack in the middle of the Great Rift Valley. The Nakuru Lake in the middle of the park is its main attraction, with hundreds of birds flocking to its shores. The park used to be known for its many flamingos, but rising water levels caused these birds to migrate elsewhere. Luckily, they are slowly returning, and in any case, Lake Nakuru is a great place to visit with its black and white rhinos, giraffes, buffalos, lions, the occasional leopard and over 400 species of birds.

Embark on 5-Days Kenya Big Five Safari to Masai Mara National Reserve. It is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Also, it is one of the best-known and most popular reserves. Additionally, Masai Mara and the Serengeti National Park form Africa’s most diverse, incredible, and most spectacular ecosystems. These parks are possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. Safaris are without a doubt some of the best you ever get.

Your Kenya Big Five Safari will continue to Lake Nakuru National Park. This is the first Rhino sanctuary in Kenya, and it was established right after the Rhinos became an endangered species. The park hosts a large population of them. Another 56 recorded species of mammals, many amphibians, reptiles, and countless insect species add to the biodiversity of the park. As a result, it is an excellent place to visit.
