After enjoying your breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey to Ngorongoro Crater, which is approximately a 3-hour drive away. Bypass the crowds at Lake Manyara National Park and reach Craters Edge Camp in time for lunch. This afternoon, you can partake in various activities available at the camp. We suggest taking a walk to the nearby Maasai boma to stretch your legs.

The following morning, you’ll set out to explore the Ngorongoro Crater. The advantageous location of Craters Edge Camp on the rim provides swift access to the crater floor, allowing you over an hour to explore before other vehicles arrive.

Furthermore, Ngorongoro Crater recognized as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, features steep sides and is home to the highest concentration of large animals in Africa. It has earned its reputation for unparalleled Big 5 game viewing, where you can spot elephants, rhinos, buffalo, lions, and leopards.

Moreover, upon returning to camp, you’ll find a classic suite room awaiting you, complete with a bathtub and hot water, as well as home-cooked meals served under the stars.

After enjoying your breakfast at the camp, you’ll depart for approximately two hours to the Manyara airstrip, where you’ll board a light aircraft for your flight to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, your guide will be present at the airstrip to escort you to your next accommodation at Cherero Camp.

Once you are welcomed by our safari guide, you’ll proceed with an en-route game drive to your accommodation, where a hot lunch will be served.

Cherero Camp provides a tranquil retreat in the heart of the wilderness, situated in a secluded area between the central and western Serengeti, where the herds of the Great Migration can be observed. By the late May to June, the wildebeest migration reaches the Grumeti River and the Western Corridor, where dramatic river crossings take place. During these crossings, the wildebeests must traverse crocodile-infested waters, and many unfortunately fall prey to these predators.

From late late July to October, you’ll have the opportunity to take a flight to Aurari Camp, located in the northern Serengeti, which is ideally positioned to witness the herds as they continue their northward migration into the Mara River, ultimately crossing into Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve.

Today, you’ll be transferred to either Grumeti Airstrip or Kogatende Airstrip for a schedule flight to Masai Mara National Reserve, where you’ll land at Keekorok Airstrip. Enjoy a 1hr scenic drive to Elewana Sand River Camp. Situated on a secluded and picturesque site, Sand River Masai Mara, this luxurious safari camp offers an exceptional blend of exclusivity, comfort, and untamed wilderness.

During your 3-nights stay, go on game drives led by expert guides, witness the Great Migration (season permitting), or indulge in rejuvenating moments at the camp’s award-winning spa. In addition, each luxurious tented suite boasts a private deck with a hot tub, perfect for unwinding after an adventure-filled day.

On the final day of your Classic Great Migration Safari, start your morning with a relaxing breakfast at the camp. Afterward, our guide will escort you to Keekorok Airstrip, where you’ll board a light aircraft bound for Nairobi‘s Wilson Airport.

Upon arrival, our representative will greet you and arrange your transfer to the Carnivore Restaurant for lunch. Once you have enjoyed your meal, you’ll be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, bringing your Masai Mara adventure to a close.
