Big Five Safari Tanzania

Meet our safari guide at Kilimanjaro International Airport depending on your flight arrival time, you’ll be picked up and transferred about 1hr drive to Arusha town.

Arrive at the lodge for leisure while getting prepared for the next day departure for your big five safari Tanzania.

You’ll be met by your private guide and vehicle at the hotel in Arusha, in the morning and driven about 2hrs to Tarangire National Park, arriving with plenty of time for the late morning game drive till early evening. Afterwards transfer to your booked accommodation where you’ll spend 1night stay.

The Tarangire River runs through the park attracting a huge number of elephants, buffalo, giraffe and antelope, particularly in the dry season between June and October. It is not uncommon to see large herds of elephants roaming through Tarangire’s savannah grasses or taking shade under the odd looking “upside down trees” (baobab) that is dotted around the park. The park also boasts over 550 different bird species, the most diverse in Africa, including the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the world!

Today you’ll be picked up with your guide after breakfast to spend a full day game drive in the park till late afternoon, and then you’ll be transferred to Karatu at your booked accommodation for an evening leisure followed with dinner and an overnight stay.

Today you’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning at 7:00, and from there you drive to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro is one of the most famous and interesting of Tanzania’s Conservation Area because here you can find the greatest number of different animal species per square kilometre. You’ll have the chance to see buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippopotamus and feline species such as caracals and servals. The luckiest travellers might even see a rhinoceros, an animal whose numbers are rapidly declining.

By lunch time you’ll arrive at the picnic site, where you’ll be offered lunch boxes, after which the safari will continue, ending in a few hours with a transfer to Serengeti National Park at your booked accommodation.

Today you’ll have a full day in the Serengeti, allowing you to explore the vast grassland plains that stretch beyond the horizon. You’ll have the opportunity to witness the reserve from above in a hot air balloon (Available at an extra cost, prior booking) giving you a unique game viewing experience in the early hours of the morning if you choose.

Later there will be a bush breakfast before heading out for a game drive along the Sogore River. Explore the area filled with stunning acacia trees and many animals. After lunch you’ll head for the Serengeti Kopjes that stick out of the surrounding lowlands. The Kopjes often attract the big cats as they provide a good vantage point from which to spot their prey. After a full day of discovery, head back to lodge for a delicious and well deserved dinner.

Depart after breakfast with en route morning game drive till early afternoon from Serengeti to Manyara via Ngorongoro on transit. Before heading out the Ngorongoro stop the Maasai Village for cultural interactions with Maasai tribe, later continue to Olduvai Gorge.

At the gorge you’ll be able to learn about some of the earliest human and animal remains that were discovered in the area, helping fill in some of the missing gaps in the human evolutionary story. Later you’ll make your way to your lodge in Manyara were you’ll be spending your evening at leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning and make your way for few minutes to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, enter in the park for the game drive in the park till afternoon.

Explore the beautiful park, dominated by the huge soda lake that sits at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is home to a huge elephant population, the famous tree-climbing lions and thousands of flamingos, all of which you’ll be able to see before making your way back to Arusha town at your own  arranged accommodation or transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward travels.
