Best of Queen Elizabeth Safari

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, an African Diurnal Safaris representative will greet you and provide transportation in a private vehicle to your reserved lodging in either Entebbe or Kampala.

Departing from Kampala, you will begin your journey on the Best of Queen Elizabeth Safari, ensuring a smooth exit before encountering traffic. A brief stop will be made for coffee and photographs at the equator, after which you will proceed through charming villages and cultivated landscapes, eventually arriving at the verdant tea estates nestled within a lush green belt. As you ascend the escarpment, you will be treated to breathtaking, panoramic views of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Depending on the timing, lunch will be served either en route or at the lodge. Upon arrival, you will check in to the lodge and have the opportunity to spend the late afternoon either exploring the village or simply enjoying the scenic vistas from the lodge.

Commence your day with an early morning game drive that reveals a variety of wildlife, including members of the Big Five such as elephants and buffaloes, as well as big cats like lions and leopards, which are more frequently observed in the evening.

Along the driving circuits, one may also encounter warthogs and the hunchbacked carnivores known as hyenas, alongside numerous other species that inhabit this park. The avian life is particularly abundant, with various stork species found in the wetland areas, leading to the stunning sight of flamingos in the salt lakes at Kasenyi.

Following lunch, prepare for the classic highlights of the day with a two-hour boat cruise on the renowned Kazinga Channel, a 36-kilometer waterway that connects Lake George to Lake Edward. During this cruise, you will observe land and water-adapted hippopotamuses yawning, the formidable Nile crocodile basking along the banks, and the savannah-dwelling warthogs, which are emblematic of this rich animal habitat.

In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

This morning, you will embark on a chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kalinzu Forest. Relish the experience of walking through the lush forest and encountering the captivating chimpanzees. Following the trek, you will begin your journey back to Kampala, making a stop at the equator and enjoying lunch in Masaka. Continue your drive back to Kampala, marking the conclusion of the Best of Queen Elizabeth Safari.
