Big Five Safari in Tanzania

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our safari guide will meet you according to your flight‘s schedule. From there, you’ll embark on a roughly one-hour drive to the town of Arusha. Upon arrival at the lodge, take some time to rest and rejuvenate in preparation for the thrilling big five Safari in Tanzania awaiting you the next day.

Today, you’ll be greeted by your private guide and vehicle at your hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll have ample time to embark on a late morning game drive that will extend into the early evening. After your adventure, you’ll be transferred to Karatu Tented Lodge for an overnight stay.

The Tarangire River flows through the park, drawing a significant population of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and antelope, especially during the dry season from June to October. It is common to witness large herds of elephants traversing the savannah or seeking refuge under the unique baobab trees scattered throughout the park.

Today you’ll go to the most famous safari park in the world – Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Serengeti National Park, this is one of the largest parks in Tanzania and has a large population of wildlife. Embark on morning and afternonn game drive. Here, you are sure to see: lions, antelopes, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and zebras. There is a good chance of spotting cheetahs, serval cats and other rare animals of the African savannah. The Serengeti is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, chosen because of its important ecosystem, the dense population of animals and the annual Great Migration.

Today you are going to the Legendary Ngorongoro Crater! Your day will begin early in the morning, when your guide arrives to drive you to the Ngorongoro Crater, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. You’ll visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.

Later in the evening you’ll ascend the Crater and drive out of the Ngorongoro Coservation Area at Hhando Coffee lodge for an evening relxation followed with dinner and an overnight stay.

The last day! Depending on your flight time, you can relax in the lodge a bit longer before heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home.
