Get ready for the next day depature for your Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Safari.

The 9-hour drive from Kampala to the untamed wilderness of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a long but very scenic drive over winding roads through stunning nature, countryside and bustling villages. As you approach Bwindi, the road gradually narrows, snaking its way through the dense, mountainous forest. Additionally, along the way, wildlife begins to reveal itself, offering potential glimpses of monkeys, zebras, and antelopes. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience with the endangered mountain gorillas awaiting you the next day.

Please note that due to the longway drive from Kampala to Bwindi, there is an option for a scheduled light aircraft flight from Entebbe to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, which includes a brief transfer to the lodge, available at an additional cost.

Embark on second day in Bwindi, engage in Uganda gorilla trekking and immersing yourself in the local community. During a mountain gorilla trekking tour, you can hike along challenging trails, spending either an hour with the habituated groups or, at an extra cost, up to four hours observing the less familiar giants in their natural habitat. This once-in-a-lifetime experience, where you can watch the gorillas eat, play, and be guarded by the silverback, will leave you in awe and may even bring tears of joy to your eyes. Please note that gorilla trekking is conducted in groups of up to 8 people, requires proper hiking shoes, and typically lasts 2 to 4 hours. Also, since this is a very popular activity which needs both a permit and a guide, it has to be booked separately and well in advance.

On the third day in Bwindi, you have the option to participate in a community walk after your gorilla trakking adventure or simply relax at your accommodation, taking in the beautiful sounds and sights of the region.

In the early morning, after your breakfast, you’ll embark on your journey back to Kampala. As you drive back to Kampala, you again pass through the villages with their lively marketplaces and the outstretched countryside with tea and coffee plantations, smooth green hills and the occasional wildlife waving you goodbye. After several days of sheer adventure, even the ride back to Kampala is an experience to enjoy!

You are expected to arrive in Kampala in the evening, where you’ll be dropped off at Hilton Garden Inn Kampala for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight to Nairobi. Once you arrive in Nairobi, our safari guide will greet you and arrange your transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Additionally, along the way, you’ll pass through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley, offering you the chance to enjoy its remarkable scenery before reaching your reserved accommodation in the Masai Mara.

The next 2-days of your Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Safari are devoted to exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations and home to the legendary Great Wildebeest Migration.

During your morning and evening Kenya game drives, witness the Big Five lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino in their natural splendor. Lions roam confidently across the open plains, leopards lounge in tree branches, and elephants wander gracefully in family groups.

If visiting between July and October, you’ll experience the world-famous Great Wildebeest Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River, braving crocodile-infested waters. This extraordinary phenomenon is nature’s greatest show of survival and instinct.

In the evenings, enjoy cultural interactions with the Maasai people, whose traditions and deep knowledge of wildlife enrich the Kenya safari experience. Later, return to Mara Maisha Camp to unwind beside a crackling fire as the sounds of the African night surround you.

This is your last day! Unfortunately, it’s time to drive back to Nairobi to catch your flight home from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Sad to leave…? Then don’t worry! We can easily add a few days of safari to your holiday or a few days on one of Kenya’s stunning beaches along the coast!
