Bwindi Lodge is an eco-lodge that overlooks the lush forest canopy of Uganda’s beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is home to the rare mountain gorillas.
The lodge is located in the Buhoma region of Impenetrable Forest. It has at least three habituated gorilla families that live in the thick, damp tropical undergrowth. Tracking them is quite challenging, but the rewards are great. Home also to monkeys, chimpanzees, and countless butterflies and forest birds, this pocket of primeval forest is one of the most biologically diverse areas on Earth. It has been designated a World Heritage Site.
Bwindi Lodge comprises eight thatched-roof bandas with en suite facilities. Each room has a private en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, a terrace overlooking panoramic vistas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and a fireplace to take the chill out of the air in the evenings.
The lodge has a natural, warm, and welcoming air. Your needs are looked after by carefully trained staff recruited from local communities. After a day’s gorilla tracking, you can have a well-deserved massage, buy a souvenir at the safari shop, or enjoy an ice-cold drink as you swap stories around the bar.
