Drive from Mwanza Town to Serengeti National Park

Mwanza to Serengeti National Park

On this day, a guide from African Diurnal Safaris will collect you from your hotel in the morning for a two-hour journey from Mwanza town to Serengeti National Park, during which you will pass through small villages en route to the park’s entrance gate.

Upon entering the park, you will embark on a game viewing experience in the western corridor, particularly along the Grumeti River, an area renowned for its resident migratory species and diverse wildlife. The Grumeti River, the second largest river in the Serengeti, is home to a significant population of crocodiles and hippos, which can be observed in their pools year-round, alongside lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and cheetahs. You will continue your game viewing until the evening, after which you will drive to your reserved accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Begin your day with breakfast before embarking on a full-day game drive in the central-eastern region of the Serengeti. In addition to witnessing these migratory herds, you may also encounter the resident predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, each playing a vital role in the ecosystem.

Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater

Begin your journey in the morning, departing around 7 AM after enjoying breakfast, with a packed lunch prepared for game viewing in the Serengeti as you travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Make a stop at a Maasai village to engage in cultural exchanges before descending to the crater floor for wildlife observation, where you may have the opportunity to see the renowned black rhino among other species. Following lunch in the late afternoon, continue your game viewing as you ascend from the crater. Finally, transfer to your reserved accommodation in Karatu for a relaxing evening, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Game Drive in Manyara National Park

Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Karatu - Lake Manyara – Tarangire National Park

Today, you will embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park, where you will enjoy a game drive that will extend into the late afternoon. Following a lunch break, you will continue your game drive as you make your way to Tarangire National Park.

Lake Manyara serves as an excellent introduction to the diverse avian life of Tanzania, boasting over 400 recorded bird species. Even those visiting Africa for the first time can reasonably expect to spot around 100 different species in a single day. Beyond the floodplain lies a narrow strip of acacia woodland, which is home to Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions and majestic elephants with impressive tusks.

After enjoying a picnic lunch, you will say goodbye to Lake Manyara and proceed towards Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive en route to your camp. Following your late afternoon wildlife viewing in the park, you will be transfered to your reserved accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive Back from Tarangire to Kilimanjaro International Airport

Today you wake up on early morning for half day game drive in Tarangire National Park, depart with your picnic lunch boxes at the lodge/ camp.

Tarangire hosts an array of wild animals, including lions and buffalos, as well as various antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, and zebras. The National Park covers some 2600km2 of wilderness, characterized by undulating plains dotted with baobab and acacia trees.

On late afternoon transfer to Arusha town at your own booked accommodation for drop off or transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward travels.
