Rwanda Classic Safari

After your arrival, meet and greet with your tour guide at Kigali International Airport and have your safari briefings. Transfer to your hotel and later take up the Kigali city tour including the Genocide Memorial and visit a craft market. On the evening arrive back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast by 5a.m in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and head to the impressive Akagera National Park, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah grassland, and woodland. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to the rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but drier. Some of the wildlife you may encounter includes; Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elephants as well as a profusion of birds.

When you arrived at the park you will continue with a full day game drive in search of the wildlife untill evening, and if fortunate you may be able to sight the shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the Lake.

In the evening you will head to the lodge for an evening relaxation followed with dinner and an overnight stay.

At 7:00 AM, embark on a captivating boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you will have the chance to observe crocodiles, hippos and variety of bird species in their natural habitat. After the excursion you will depart from Akagera and journey towards Volcanoes National Park. Along the esy enjoy the scenic winding roads and picturesque landscapes of Rwanda. Make a stop in Kigali to savor a delightful hot lunch before continuing your journey to Musanze where you will be staying at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.

Early in the morning, you will gather at the RDB Office for a brefing by the ranger, preparing you for your hiking adventure. You will then begin your ascent of the Mountain Bisoke, a rewarding climb that leads you to the summit where you will marvel at the stunning Crater Lake nestled on top of the Volcano.

After a rewarding breathtaking views, you will descend and return to Musanze at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. The hike typically takes between 5-7hrs, depending on the pace and experience level of your group.

After your breakfast, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters. Meeting with the park ranger and followed by park formalities. Volcanoes National Park, home to several habituated gorilla families. As you trek through dense forests and lush vegetation, guided by expert trackers, the anticipation builds. Finally, you reach the gorillas’ natural habitat and witness these incredible creatures up close. Observing their playful behavior, hearing their gentle grunts, and looking into their expressive eyes are an experience that leaves an indelible mark on your soul.

After an unforgettable day spent with the gorillas, you return to the lodge, where you can relax in the refined ambiance, share stories of your adventure with fellow guests, and savor delicious cuisine inspired by both local flavors and International culinary delight

On the final day of this safari, you set off into Volcanoes National Park for more primate trekking! This morning you will track the endemic golden monkeys of the Virunga Mountains, walking in the bamboo forests on the lower slopes. Today’s trek is shorter and easier than the mountain gorilla trek of the previous day.

You will walk to one of the large troops of golden monkeys and watch these long-tailed primates move around in the tree branches and sometimes on the forest floor.

After having enough time with the Golden monkeys of Volcanoes National Park, you will set off for a  drive back south to Kigali. On arrival in Kigali you can engange on City tour if you didnt get time on first day and later you will be transfered to Kigali Intermational Airport for your onward travels.
