Buhoma Lodge is an eco-friendly lodge in Uganda’s impressive Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. It is home to the increasingly rare mountain gorilla and a host of other primates, birds, reptiles, and vegetation. The location, just five minutes’ walk from the park gate, is perfect for excursions into the forest.
The rooms at Buhoma Lodge are connected by raised wooden walkways. These link the main area to eight comfortable cottages showcasing local materials and enchanting decor. Each suite has a private veranda and enormous windows that seem to bring the forest indoors. Inside, all is spacious. They feature wooden floors, large comfortable beds, colorful accents, and a charming en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet and hot shower. Some rooms have tubs.
Meals at Buhoma Lodge are freshly prepared using local produce and are served in the central dining area. A variety of international dishes are served, as well as traditional local dishes such as matoke (starchy green bananas that are stewed) and groundnut sauce.
The elevated central lounge area features cosy fireplaces for chilly evenings, a welcoming bar and dining area and views across the impenetrable forest.
